BIO

Bill grew up in Pittsburgh and Columbus, Ohio, but his acting addiction began in Boston, where he also studied voice and dance. In two seasons of summer stock in Maine and in Boston theaters, he acted in productions ranging from musicals to Shakespeare to experimental theater. He also did radio, TV, films, commercials and industrials, before moving to the Left Coast in 1987.

In L.A. Bill expanded beyond acting: eight years of radio news reporting; “police beat” wire service reporting from LAPD headquarters; and writing feature stories for the L.A. Times and other publications. His first feature script "The Secret War" was honored in screenplay competitions. He greeted and announced red-carpet events at Shrine Auditorium and the Pasadena Civic. He also worked in public relations, and did home-video marketing for director-producer David Winters and for video rental pioneer George Atkinson.

Returning to acting in 2017, Bill also learned improv and physical comedy skills at Second City. He has acted recently in theater, films, TV, music videos, web series and Virtual Reality. He also began performing standup comedy at top venues. Bill hosts the YouTube channel "Movie Peek with Bill Hoversten." He started the podcast and YouTube channel “But You're Not Funny!” And he wrote, produced, and acted in the award-winning short film “Mother’s Day Memories” - a 2021 Oscar contender.
